Brush Up on Kidney Health this World Kidney Day

March 11 is World Kidney Day. This year, DaVita is collaborating with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) to raise awareness about kidney health, the connection between diabetes and kidney disease, and ways to help prevent or slow the progression of these chronic conditions.

Mandy Tilton, RN, chief nursing officer for DaVita, joined Dr. Robert A. Gabbay, MD, chief scientific and medical officer for the ADA, to bring awareness of how to manage kidney health and diabetes to radio audiences across the U.S.

Prioritize diabetes and kidney health education this World Kidney Day by giving these quick segments a listen:

Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney disease globally. 1.5 million people in the U.S.  are diagnosed with diabetes every year. 1 in 3 people living with diabetes also have kidney disease. Along with the ADA, DaVita is educating the community on kidney disease to help those at risk avoid kidney failure all together through early detection.
